REGULAR SESSION MONDAY EVENING DECEMBER 16, 2019

The Governing Body of the City of Silver Lake met in regular session at city hall on Monday evening December 16, 2019 with Mayor Mack Smith conducting the meeting and the following Councilmembers present: Brad Bryant, Tom Noble, Heath Robinson, Larry Ross (4) Absent: Tim Kampsen (1). Also present were City Attorney Luckman., Police Chief Call, Public Works Superintendent Taylor, City Clerk Brown and Assistant City Clerk Beam.

Motion was made by Councilmember Ross and seconded by Councilmember Noble that the minutes from the last regular session held on December 2, 2019 be approved as amended.

Claim vouchers in the amount of $10,051.98 were submitted to council for appropriation. An ordinance entitled "An ordinance appropriating money to pay certain claims" was introduced and read at length. Motion was made by Councilmember Ross and seconded by Councilmember Noble that said ordinance be accepted as read and was then placed on final passage by roll call of the following vote: AYE: Brad Bryant, Heath Robinson, Tom Noble, Larry Ross (4) NAY: None. Ordinance was declared passed and was given No. 2443.

Motion was made by Councilmember Noble to approve the application for a Cereal Malt Beverage License received from Wehner’s. Motion was seconded by Councilmember Robinson and approved.

Chief Call reported that 15 vehicles were entered and 2 stolen. Officer Snyder was on call, but he was on a call in the county when this happened.

The Public works employees did a good job pushing the snow.

Police Chief Call updated council on the information he received from Alcohol Beverage Control about Special Use Permits.

Councilmember Noble let council know he will not be attending the meeting on January 6th.

Mayor Smith reported that the Annual Tree Lighting went well.

Mayor Smith wrote a letter to Governor Kelly asking her attend the parade for the Sesquicentennial in June 2020.

It was noted we are waiting on Storm Softball to sign the contract for the Softball diamond.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 6, 2020 at 5:30 P.M. The following meeting is scheduled for January 22, 2020 at 5:30 P.M.

With no further business to come before council, Councilmember Ross moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:48 P.M. Motion was seconded by Councilmember Noble and approved.
