REGULAR SESSION MONDAY EVENING FEBRUARY 18, 2019
The Governing Body of the City of Silver Lake met in regular session at city hall on Monday evening February 18, 2019 with President of the Council Nancy Bryant conducting the meeting and the following Councilmembers present: Tim Kampsen, Tom Noble, Heath Robinson, Larry Ross (5) Absent: Mayor Mack Smith (1).
Motion was made by Councilman Ross and seconded by Councilman Noble that the minutes from the last regular session held on February 4, 2019 be approved.
Claim vouchers in the amount of $58,137.56 were submitted to council for appropriation. An ordinance entitled "An ordinance appropriating money to pay certain claims" was introduced and read at length. Motion was made by Councilman Ross and seconded by Councilman Noble that said ordinance be accepted as read and was then placed on final passage by roll call of the following vote: AYE: Nancy Bryant, Tim Kampsen, Heath Robinson, Tom Noble, Larry Ross (5) NAY: None. Ordinance was declared passed and was given No. 2418.
Motion was made by Councilman Noble to approve the Application for Liquor License received from Hernandez Mexican Restaurant. Motion was seconded by Councilman Robinson and approved.
Council reviewed an email received from a property owner with concerns that city employees were directed by council to abate the weeds, foliage and other overgrowth on his property as soon as weather permits. Council directed City Clerk Stadler to contact City Attorney Luckman and ask that he respond to this email accordingly.
Public Works Assistant Smith reported that repairs have been made to a portion of a driveway that needed to be dug up so a water leak could be repaired.
With no further business to come before council, Councilman Noble moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 P.M. Motion was seconded by Councilman Ross and approved.
