Municipal Court


Municipal Court is the judicial branch of the City Government. Traffic violations and violations of City Ordinances are tried in Municipal Court. Trials are conducted under the Code of Ordinances, Code for Municipal Courts, and the Kansas Rules of Evidence as adopted by the Kansas Legislature.

Municipal court is held on the first Wednesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at Silver Lake City Hall.

Kansas State law prohibits any judge from speaking to defendants outside of the courtroom. Therefore, all correspondence will be directed to the Court Clerk.

Court Schedule

At 5:00 p.m. Municipal Court is called into session. The court hears cases on a first-come, first-served basis. Kansas State Law prohibits the judge from talking to defendants outside of the courtroom. All correspondence must be completed through the Court Clerk. Please include the case number, name, phone number, and address in all correspondence.
