Part-Time Police Administrative Assistant


SALARY: $15.00 hourly.

BENEFITS: Not provided.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

US Citizen authorized to work in the United States.  At least eighteen years of age.  High School graduate or equivalent.  Possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver’s license. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.  Must pass an annual background investigation and obtain NCIC/KCJIS certification.

DUTIES:

This position is funded annually from the city budget.  Work hours may be limited based on funding but in any event will be limited to 999 work hours per calendar year.

This is a part-time position with no benefits provided.

Work schedule may vary but will primarily be during normal business hours on weekdays with weekends and city-recognized holidays off.

This is an administrative assistant position that is under the command of the Police Chief and is a civilian, non-sworn law enforcement support function.  The employee has a substantial amount of public contact and provides administrative support to the Police Chief and other officers and provides public assistance.  The employee will be required to exercise initiative, good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality at all times.
