About Silver Lake Township

The Township has three elected positions; Trustee, Clerk, and Treasurer, each serving four-year terms. A sexton who is an employee of Silver Lake Township oversees the operations and maintenance of Silver Lake Cemetery. Regulations are set by the Township Board.  Silver Lake Township is responsible for rural roads and the local cemetery The Trustee sits on the Boards of both Shawnee County Fire District #1 and the Silver Lake Public Library. Silver Lake Township maintains unpaved rural roads outside Silver Lake's city limits, including roadside mowing and traffic signs.


Meetings

Silver Lake Township holds regular open meetings on the first Monday of each month at the Silver Lake Public Library, at 7 p.m.  The remainder of the 2022 meetings are scheduled for August 1, Sept. 6, October 3, Nov. 7, and Dec. 5.  In the event of special meetings, announcements are posted in the Silver Lake Post Office and Silver Lake City Offices.
